Baroque concert Orchestre des Pays de Savoie
Valloire
In the 18th century, composers idealized country life. So when Mozart arrived in France in 1778, he hoped to win over the court of Versailles with a delightful ballet, Les Petits Riens, depicting charming scenes between shepherds and shepherdesses.
A major figure of the same century, Michel Corrette's Sinfonia n°4 features magnificent arrangements of Christmas carols from the period.
Here again, the music brings a unique sense of peace and harmony with nature.
Conducting from his harpsichord, Bruno Procopio then presents Rameau's Concerts en sextuor, one of the absolute peaks of French Baroque music.
Haydn's Divertimento concludes the evening with the marvellous aesthetics of the Age of Enlightenment.
The Orchestre des Pays de Savoie is a professional chamber orchestra of 23 permanent musicians, under the musical direction of Pieter-Jelle de Boer since September 2021.
