Our story began in the small village of Beaufort-sur-Gervanne, at the heart of the Vercors Regional Nature Park. Our organic, fair trade chocolate factory is at the end of a pretty little winding road that leads away from the village. Its name rings through the surrounding garrigue: the Frigoulette.
We manufacture and package our own superb range of chocolate in a cool, bioclimatic workshop, using 'Premier Grand Cru' cocoa from a fair trade plantation on the island of São Tomé and Príncipe in the Gulf of Guinea. The best cocoa beans in the world! Since the very beginning, traceability and responsible practices have been paramount for us, and with my team we create 'real chocolate', chocolate with the organic, fair trade label, produced according to environmentally friendly practices and ensuring the producers from the island are given a decent wage (with my partner KAOKA). Frigoulette has been certified a Bio Partenaire®, and fair trade company by the Ecocert organisation.
The Frigoulette workshop doesn't use animal fats and only makes pure cocoa butter chocolate, without the use of palm oil and gluten-free.
