The artist conceived these large sheets of clay as milestones marking the hero's circuitous route between his departure and Ithaca, his point of arrival. With a marvellous economy of means, they tell as well as describe the full force of a founding myth. They are metaphors engraved, or rather printed, in a sumptuous material that recalls all the rough edges of the journey. And all around you, on your own journey, you'll pass between the splendid sculptures of the "Garden of the Full Moon" and the "Blocks", never before exhibited, with powers of temptation far greater than those of Circe herself!
