Based in New Orleans for several years now, Judith Owen has returned to the love of jazz that nurtured her childhood, and today pays a vibrant tribute to the female singers of the 40s and 50s, whom she feels are too little known. Women, she says, who had the courage to assume and sing of their own desire at a time when people were demanding that they be erased.
