Le Mondrian

Lyon ème

Description

Welcome to Le Mondrian and its terrace, which is one of the loveliest in the city, where Maxime Delorme and Michel Piet prepare real, inspired and generous homemade food. Le Mondrian's primary concern is to combine origins, tastes, populations, images and sounds: lunch breaks, festive dinners, gourmet apéritifs on the terrace, artistic happenings, musical evenings on Thursdays, and large tables surrounded by lots of friends at the weekend...
We aim to surprise. In tribute to a great name in modern art (and not only his first name), Le Mondrian likes to break away from past codes. How to achieve the perfect balance, rigour and subtle sensitivity that gives everything its meaning when you're working with simple shapes reduced to rectangles, lines and a few colours. This approach has driven the world of art, architecture and design, so why shouldn't it also be a driving force behind the culinary arts?
Michel Piet is a long-distance traveller, cook, and artist, and for over 20 years he has distilled pure moments of culinary jubilation all over the world, always trying to stay off the beaten track through an approach to cooking that is resolutely demanding and offbeat. This style of cuisine of worldwide inspiration systematically sets itself apart thanks to a subtle alchemy that is both highly flavoursome and colourful, and leaves no-one indifferent.
Situated on the banks of the Rhône, near the universities and working-class areas in the 7th arrondissement, Le Mondrian and its typical shady terrace is truly heavenly in fine weather, and the promise of an atmosphere that really sets it apart.
Come and enjoy a great time at Le Mondrian. We'll obviously be seeing you very soon!
