Spartan has chosen Morzine to host its revisited version of the Ultra 2024 World Championship: 50k - 60 obstacles - a nod to the 10th anniversary of Spartan in France, but also to the Olympic Games.
Morzine, THE obvious destination for the Ultra Championship
Since its first edition in 2017, the Morzine Spartan Ultra has been described by athletes as the most demanding: almost 4,000 m of climbing, natural elements and obstacles to overcome: a climb up a river, the vertiginous ascent of the Pointe de Nyon, the crossing of a high-altitude lake, a jump into a waterfall, which are added to the 60 obstacles that punctuate the 50km race. The best cross the finish line in under 7 hours, but most participants take on more than 10 hours of intense effort.
The number of race numbers for the Spartan Ultra World Championship is currently limited to 500. Priority will be given to athletes finishing a Spartan Ultra in 2023. Only those registered in the Elite and Age Group categories will be included in the World Championship rankings.
The Spartan Ultra World Championship in Morzine on Friday, July 5, 2024 The Spartan Beast will take place in Morzine on Saturday, July 6, 2024. The Spartan Sprint and Super will be held in Morzine on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
