Out of the keeping period, part of the refuge (22 beds in 2 dormitories) remains open. Blankets, wood and gas are available, to be consumed with kindness and a contribution to the costs is to be paid when booking.

In summer, located on the route of the GR du Pays Tournette - Aravis. Starting point for the various access routes to the summit of the Pointe Percée 2752 m. Hiking: Col des Verts, Chombas, Pointe Percée, Combe des Fours. Alpinism: crossing the arête des verts and the arete de Chombaz; Climbing: arête du Doigt, the Gramusset wall, Zauberberg... Topos "Escalade Massif Bornes-Aravis". Ski touring, snowshoeing.
