It is primarily a stage on the tour of the glaciers of the Vanoise. The refuge was built in stone, wood and slate in the purest mountain tradition, in place of a former Alpine chalet. The wooden interior offers a modern refuge while maintaining an authentic character. It enjoys an exceptional view over Lake Plan d'Amont and Plan d'Aval.

Day hikes: The tip of the Echée the tip Bellecôte Rateau Aussois, Col d'Aussois, Lake Génépy, the neck of the mass ... - Point Observatory and Rateau Aussois: 4h. 800 and 920m in altitude, beautiful view. Tour du Grand Chatelard and Lake Génépy: 2h, family outing. Pointe Bellecôte 780m in altitude: 2:30. Hiking over several days: Tour of the Vanoise Glaciers.
