The castle of Parentignat
Parentignat
The castle of Parentignat, called « The little Versailles of Auvergne » by the writer Henri Pourrat is a must for the curious visitor. Spared during the French Revolution, it now houses one of the largest private collections of paintings by French masters of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The tour allows you to discover the different enfilades salons, the dining room, the rooms of pageantry, that still retain much of their original furniture, and a library with 20,000 volumes. A walk among the trees of the beautiful English park will pleasantly complement your visit.
