When you leave Montchavin, first take the gondola "Les Coches", then the "Lac Noir" gondola. When leaving Les Coches, either take the Telebfette or the shuttle-bus, then the "Lac Noir" gondola
On arrival at the Plan Bois plateau, follow the pedestrian signpost across the piste, but watch out for oncoming skiers ; the footpath takes you through the forest, and after 10 minutes, you'll come to the open plateau. You can walk around here happily gazing at the Mont Blanc chain of mountains. It takes 20 minutes or so to walk back up to the gondola, in order to return back down to resort.
