Paris-Prague
rue Garibaldi
Whether Dvořák immerses us in the tranquility of the Bohemian forest (“Waldesruhe”) or Lili Boulanger in that of a dreamy night (“Nocturne”), whether Villa-Lobos draws us into the playful exoticism of his “jet flute” or Jean-Baptiste Robin into the hypnotic, crystalline flow of his *Rouages du temps*, this program is deeply poetic. It also features two composers linked to the history of the Auditorium’s organ: Charles-Marie Widor of Lyon, whose Eighth Symphony premiered on our organ (then at the Palais du Trocadéro), and the dazzling genius Jehan Alain, who died on the front lines at the age of 29. These works find their ideal interpreter in Gabriele Agrimonti, titular organist at the Church of Saint-Louis-des-Français in Rome.
