Saint André’s church was built in the flamboyant gothic style using mainly local ‘Carron Savoyarde’ bricks and Ravermont Stone. The church was originally a very modest structure that has undergone various modifications over the centuries thanks to the contributions of rich local lords and merchants. During the French Revolution the church suffered a great deal of damage including the demolition of its bell tower. Inside the church you can see the stained-glass windows that depict the Sisters of Charity and Saint Vincent de Paul. The stained-glass windows were installed between 1890 and 1892 by the renowned Lyonnais firm of glaziers Paquier-Desvignes. You can also see the splendid wooden sculpture of Saint Sebastian by artist Jean Tarrit a native Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne that dates from 1910. Today Saint André’s is best known for its magnificent neo-classic church organ which was beautifully restored in 1996. (Sunday Mass at 10:30)
