Anushka Chkheidze | Festival Europavox 2024

Son premier album, « Halfie », teinté de rythmes flottants, de synthés analogiques rappelant les années 80 et de sons club-house plus marqués par les années 90 a remporté plusieurs prix et a également été nommé Album indépendant européen de l’année aux récompenses IMPALA. Un album que personne ne parviendra à enfermer dans un genre, et qui ne décevra que ceux qui jugent en termes de décibels. Ses huit pistes instrumentales sont inondées de rythmes flottants (« Lingotto »), de synthés paisibles (« Look at People ») et de pads ondulants (« Good Flight, Emanuel! »).

Il aura fallu moins d’un an pour la voir revenir avec un deuxième album, « Move 20-21», plus proche d’un son cinématique (et ce n’est en rien une surprise que la jeune productrice compose également des musiques pour film et théâtre). C’est durant le confinement de 2020 qu’elle créa cet album. Comme elle le décrit dans ses propres termes, il s’agit d’un voyage mental à travers le temps et l’espace, dépourvu de tout mouvement physique.

Anushka crée une musique qui possède son propre habitat, comme si elle était parvenue à saisir la géométrie du son pour créer des paysages musicaux atmosphériques, complexes et hors du commun (comme le pétillant « Move, Move», ou encore le désarticulé « 20-21»), autant de kaléidoscopes qui rejettent toutes les règles physiques communément admises. Et tout cela à seulement 23 ans.
